I'm Javier Sebastián

I've always been fascinated by how things work—and, more importantly, how they can be improved.

Sometimes that means building software.
Sometimes it's restoring a piece of furniture, growing vegetables in the garden,
polishing a car until it looks new again, or practicing drum rudiments for hours.

The medium changes.
The curiosity doesn't.

Frontend engineering happens to be the craft I've practiced professionally for more than 15 years. Along the way I've worked on government platforms, enterprise products, CRM and ERP systems, eCommerce applications.

But I don't think of myself as "just" a frontend engineer.

I enjoy understanding systems, connecting ideas, and making complex things feel simple for the people who use them. Whether the solution involves JavaScript, a backend service, a database, a piece of wood, or a set of gardening tools is almost secondary.

I've always been a self-taught builder.

I grew up surrounded by books and tools, and that combination shaped the way I learn: read, experiment, make mistakes, understand why, and build again.

One thing I've learned after all these years is that great products are never the result of one brilliant individual.

They're built by teams.

That's why my favorite part of engineering isn't writing code—it's collaborating with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Diversity challenges assumptions, creates better ideas, and reminds us that software is ultimately about humans.

I don't aspire to be the smartest person in the room.

I aspire to keep being the most curious one.
